Helping You Access the Hearing Care You Deserve
At Local Hearing Aid Specialists, we believe everyone deserves to hear well and enjoy life without financial stress. That’s why we offer a range of funding and payment options to make hearing care more affordable and accessible for all Australians.
Whether you are a pensioner, a private client, an NDIS participant, or someone needing support through workers’ compensation, we are here to guide you through your options and make the process simple.
Australian Government Hearing Services Program (HSP)
We are fully accredited to provide services under the Australian Government’s Hearing Services Program (HSP). If you are eligible, this program can cover the full cost or subsidise your hearing services and hearing aids.
You may be eligible if you are:
- A Pensioner Concession Card holder
- Receiving Sickness Allowance from Centrelink
- A Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Gold Card holder (for all conditions)
- A DVA White Card holder (for conditions related to hearing)
- A dependent of someone who qualifies in any of the above categories
- A member of the Australian Defence Force
- An Australian Government NDIS participant
If you qualify, you will receive:
- A free hearing assessment
- Consultation with a qualified clinician
- Hearing aids (if needed)
- Ongoing follow-up care and rehabilitation

Private Clients and Health Insurance
If you are not eligible for government funding, you can still access our services privately. Many of our clients are self-funded and choose us for our quality care, affordable pricing, and personalised attention.
Private Health Insurance Rebates
If you have private health cover, you may be eligible for a rebate on your hearing aids or devices. We recommend checking your individual policy with your health fund to confirm your entitlements before purchasing.
Our team is happy to provide a quote and help with any paperwork your insurer may need.
